Marion Weeber Buttons

Some of the most popular realistic celluloid buttons with collectors are designed by Marion Weeber (1906-2000). Best known for her fruit basket buttons, you may also find buttons of birds, food, candles, flowers and leaves. Known Weeber Button Sets include Breads (c. 1948), Cake Layers, Busy Bee, April Showers (c. 1942), Birdlings, Clocks, and Candies.

These buttons were largely designed for dresses. Weeber designed for B. Blumenthal in the 1940s.  Their website indicates that parts of each button were individually molded in celluloid then assembled and glued together.  Her style was highly imitated and collectors use original cards to determine if a button is truly designed by Weeber.

Weeber also designed jewelry for Coro from 1940-1941 and produced her own studio jewelry designs as well.
